This Wednesday, October 18 is our annual Walk to School Day.  This is one of our biggest events each year, drawing approximately 500 students.  We hope that this year we can get the most students to participate ever!!  Please read the details and find the map below.

All students are encouraged to participate.  The weather should be beautiful and it is a great opportunity to get our students out and walking with their friends and teachers.  The Irvine Police Department and several teachers will be helping us along the way.  Those teachers who are not walking will be on campus making pancakes for the participants.

Walk to School Day

JTMS will be holding it’s annual Walk to School event this Wednesday October 18th . We will be  walking through our attendance area and invite all to get involved.  The total of our walk is 3.4 miles and we have created pick-up areas along the way to shorten the walk for those wanting to do less.  At each pick-up area there will be teachers to meet and gather the students.  The distance from each pick-up area is designated in the course description below. Once we get back to campus there will be a pancake breakfast for all participants!

Departure time from Starbucks in the Cypress Village Shopping Center will be 7:30 a.m. sharp (#1 – 3.4 mile walk) with our projected JTMS arrival time to be 8:45 a.m.  We have attached a detailed map and schedule of our route and staging locations/times for you to view.   We will provide JTMS staff members at each pick-up area to wait with the students until the group moves past each location.

We will travel east on Trabuco to Sand Canyon and then head north.  Our first pick-up area will be at the corner of Towngate & Sand Canyon at 7:45 a.m. (#2 -  1.9 mile walk)   We will then continue west on Towngate to Revival and make our way to the second pick-up spot at the corner of Lamplighter and Vintage.  Please be at this spot by 8:00 a.m. (#3 -  1 mile).  From there we head west to Vintage where we turn left and head for Long Meadow and get to the final leg of this walk which will be down Long Meadow to Jeffrey and through the joust back to Trabuco and Visions.

Home at last …with pancakes and smiling teachers to welcome us!!
